The Sisters of Mary of Kakamega works as teachers and administrators in different schools. The schools include Kindergartens, Primary, Secondary, Colleges/Universities ad even Special needs education.

Our Sisters in the diocese of Tonj , South Sudan,faces transportation problems.Transport in Tonj is a big challenge hence travelling from Tonj to Juba to get a flight is a great risk because of security reasons. Mostly flights are not available and the sisters relay on those flights for help from the likes of WFP and UN.
The Sisters also get little stipend for the upkeep and sustainance since they are missionaries. Despite the challenges they serve the community with a lot of commitment and this can ba witnessed by the sentiments from the local community
